LED installations by STRIDE — Instructions & Disclaimer
This page describes what STRIDE provides as standard with a LED installation, what it does not, and what preparations your electrician must make in the case of central control or complex projects.
What STRIDE provides as standard
- Connection to a 230V socket, at a maximum distance of 2 metres from the light source (LED strip, frame or logo).
- The adapter (transformer) and controller are placed visibly and neatly finished, e.g. on the floor, against a wall or against the ceiling.
- 24V LED strips. Each individual line may be a maximum of 10 metres long due to voltage drop.
- Cables are, if necessary, concealed in surface-mounted cable trunking. These remain visible.
- For simple installations (maximum 3 LED lines), STRIDE provides the control via the free Tuya app (wifi controllers) or an RF remote control.
- STRIDE installs 3 types of LED profiles: All-purpose profile 20x20 mm (glue-mount only), Step-on floor profile (glue-mount only) and Large profile 30x40 mm (glue-mount or suspended with pendant cables).
What STRIDE does not provide
- No modifications in the electrical cabinet — our installers do not work on or in electrical cabinets.
- No concealment or hiding of the adapter/controller behind walls, in ceilings, floors or technical rooms.
- No home automation integration or central control systems (unless fully prepared by an electrician).
- No cable runs longer than 2 metres from the light source.
- No aesthetic finishing such as casing, cover panels or structural finishing.
- No wiring for complex projects (see below).
Instructions for the customer and/or their electrician
When central control or a pre-planned connection is chosen, the following requirements apply:
- The electrician provides 2-core cables (1.5 mm², 24V) to the correct location, according to plan.
- These cables must be switchable to ensure a safe installation.
- All preparatory electrical work must be completed before the arrival of the STRIDE installers.
- If desired, STRIDE can send adapters in advance, so that the electrician can install them in the technical room.
- The electrician may provide transformers on DIN-rail if desired.
- A junction box must always be provided for connections (surface-mounted or recessed). For floor cabling (such as LED next to Sprinttracks), this must be embedded in the floor. A minimum of 5 cm x 5 cm of space is needed to conceal cables and contact points (such as Wago connectors).
Technical specifications LED strips
| Type of LED strip | Voltage | Consumption | Max. length per line |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warm white 2700K COB | 24V | 9 W/m | 10 metres |
| RGBW | 24V | 19 W/m | 10 metres |
| High Output | 24V | 24 W/m | 10 metres |
Complex LED installations — collaboration required
For projects with multiple LED lines, central control or integration into home automation, the following applies:
- Based on visuals or plans, STRIDE can indicate where cabling should go, but does not provide it itself.
- The complete control and electrical cabling must be provided by the electrician.
- Responsibility for the operation and safety of the control lies with the electrician.
- STRIDE does mount all LED strips, frames and profiles, provided that the cables are correctly in place.
- For complex projects, the installation hours can only be estimated approximately.
- For each connection location, a junction box (5x5 cm) must be provided, with sufficient space for cables and connectors.
